FAQ
What does WYSIWYG mean?
“What you see is what you get”: you receive exactly this specimen from the photo.
Are the colours in the photo real?
The photo was taken under blue light with white balance.
How much space does the Euphyllia need?
Leave a few centimetres to neighbouring corals so the tentacles and sweepers don't touch them.
How do I place the coral?
Place it a little lower or in a shadier spot at first, then move it to full light step by step over one to two weeks.
Care at a glance
Typical requirements of the genus – individual specimens may differ.
- Difficulty
- Easy to moderate – does well with stable water parameters.
- Light
- Moderate light; lighting that is too strong keeps the polyps retracted.
- Flow
- Moderate and alternating, so the tentacles sway gently.
- Placement
- Middle to lower zone with plenty of space – Euphyllia sting strongly.
- Feeding
- Photosynthetic; occasional fine food encourages growth.
Euphyllia are among the most popular LPS corals in reef aquariums. Torch, hammer and frogspawn varieties form long, fleshy tentacles with coloured tips that move in the current and bring any tank to life. Stable alkalinity, calcium and magnesium levels are essential, as these corals react sensitively to fluctuations. Keep enough distance from neighbouring corals, because their sweeper tentacles can become considerably longer at night. With WYSIWYG offers, the photos show exactly the colony you will receive.
