Our philosophy and goals

First-class reef keeping starts before the purchase.

Since 2017, Premium Reefing has been dedicated to the care and propagation of a wide variety of corals and invertebrates. Our goal is to keep these fascinating creatures responsibly and to establish them sustainably on the market.

Every new arrival goes through a quarantine of at least 14 days and is carefully checked for pests and unwanted hitchhikers. Our focus is on high-quality LPS corals and SPS corals. At the same time, we offer hardy corals for beginners and easy-care animals for a range of reef systems.

Through continuously optimised shipping methods, special thermal materials and many years of experience, we ensure careful packaging and the safest possible arrival of your animals. Should an unexpected loss nevertheless occur, it is handled smoothly under our DOA guidelines.

Our ambition goes beyond selling: we want to create a personal, exclusive and professionally run experience around the fascination of reef keeping.

01 Where can I buy corals online?

At Premium Reefing you can buy corals directly online – hand-selected LPS corals, SPS corals, soft corals and NPS corals, many of them as WYSIWYG one-offs. All animals go through at least 14 days of quarantine. Within Germany we ship via GO! Express Overnight (delivered by UPS, minimum order value €50.00, free shipping from €250.00), and to 26 other EU countries via Premium UPS Worldwide Express (€49.95, free shipping from €650.00).

02 Which corals are suitable for beginners and first stocking?

For getting started and first stocking your aquarium, hardy soft corals such as Zoanthus (wear gloves when handling), mushrooms or leather corals are particularly suitable. Many species are very easy to care for, adaptable and forgiving of minor fluctuations in water parameters. Zoanthids are also a good choice. It is important that your tank is fully cycled and has stable water parameters before you add the first livestock.

As a next step, comparatively easy-care LPS corals such as Euphyllia are a good option. So alongside demanding high-end and signature corals, you will also find hardy animals for beginners with us. We are happy to advise you personally on your selection.

03 How much does shipping cost?

That depends on whether you order corals and other livestock or products, and where they are delivered. The following rates apply at checkout:

Corals and livestock – Germany

  • GO! Express Overnight (delivered by UPS): €24.90, minimum order value €50.00, free shipping from €250.00
  • Saturday delivery (via GO! Express): €39.90, minimum order value €150.00, free shipping from €500.00

Corals and livestock – EU (26 countries, e.g. Austria, Netherlands, France)

  • Premium UPS Worldwide Express: €49.95, free shipping from €650.00

Equipment, food and care products – Germany

  • DPD Standard (delivery in 1–2 working days): €5.90, free shipping from €120.00
  • DPD Express (next-working-day delivery): €18.95
  • Alternatively GO! Express Overnight or Saturday delivery at the same prices and thresholds as for livestock shipping

Equipment, food and care products – EU

  • DPD Classic EU (delivery in 2–5 working days): €14.90

For mixed orders (livestock and equipment or food), the shipping costs of both groups are added together at checkout. You will see the exact costs at checkout before paying.

04 What are signature corals?

Signature corals are corals that have been grown under aquarium conditions and show a colouration specific to their name.

Our own signature corals are marked with the abbreviation PR (PR = Premium Reefing).

05 Will I receive exactly the coral shown?

With WYSIWYG listings, you receive exactly the animal shown in the product photos. Differences due to lighting, camera settings and your own aquarium lighting are possible.

06 When will I receive my delivery?

We generally try to process and ship all orders as quickly as possible.

However, especially for livestock shipments, it is important to state your preferred delivery date when ordering.

In the event of severe weather, regional or national public holidays or extremely high shipping volumes, the delivery date may have to be postponed. In such cases we will contact you by email to arrange a new shipping date.

07 Do the animals need to be acclimated after shipping?

As a rule, corals are not acclimated to water parameters or temperature, but placed in the aquarium immediately after unpacking.

Note, however, that invertebrates such as clams, crustaceans, snails, sea urchins and similar animals must be carefully acclimated to the aquarium water. You can find a short guide on how to do this here.

08 How does your DOA policy work?

Should an animal unexpectedly not arrive alive, we handle the case according to our DOA guidelines. Please document its condition immediately upon receipt with clear photos or videos. You can find out more here.

09 Do you also stock equipment and care products?

Yes. Alongside corals, you'll find selected products from Red Sea, ATI, NYOS, Korallenzucht, Panta Rhei, Gryphon and Focustronic. If you have any questions about choosing products, we're happy to advise you.
