Advice
We help you choose.
The Hanna Checker HC HI774D is a digital photometer for phosphate in saltwater in the ultra-low range of 0.00 to 0.90 ppm. According to Hanna, it resolves to 0.01 ppm, making it suitable for low-nutrient reef tanks. Hanna supplies the HI774D version without reagents.
Instead of the Hanna reagents, we include the Tropic Marin PO4 Professional refill. You measure with the HI774D using this reagent. You can buy more from us separately.

Hanna Checker HC without Hanna reagents.
Many reefers keep phosphate between about 0.02 and 0.10 ppm. More important than a fixed value is that it stays stable and doesn't drop to zero permanently.
It is the same phosphate Checker. The HI774D just comes without the Hanna powder reagents. Instead, we include the Tropic Marin PO4 Professional refill.
The HI774D shows phosphate in ppm, the HI736 phosphorus in ppb. 1 ppb phosphorus corresponds to around 3 ppb phosphate. The HI736 offers finer resolution at very low levels.
We also sell the Tropic Marin PO4 Professional refill separately.
Just tell us your tank volume and your livestock – we'll be glad to help you choose the right product and use it correctly.
