About Premium Reefing

Premium Reefing is a coral shop based in Oberasbach, Germany. Since 2017 we have been keeping and propagating SPS and LPS corals as well as selected invertebrates for the marine aquarium hobby. The shop is run by Premium Reefing UG (haftungsbeschränkt); the managing director is Jan Burghardt.

What you'll find with us

Our focus is on LPS corals such as Euphyllia, Acanthastrea and Scolymia and on SPS corals such as Acropora, Montipora and Millepora. We also offer hardy soft corals such as Zoanthus, mushrooms and leather corals, which are great for getting started. You can recognise our own signature corals by the abbreviation PR.

Besides corals, we stock equipment and care products from Red Sea, ATI, NYOS, Korallenzucht, Panta Rhei, Gryphon and Focustronic. Much of it also runs in our own systems.

WYSIWYG: you get the animal shown

Many of our corals are offered as WYSIWYG pieces. With these listings, you receive exactly the animal shown in the product photos. Colours may look slightly different depending on lighting, camera and your own aquarium lights.

At least 14 days of quarantine

Every newly arrived animal stays in our quarantine for at least 14 days. During this time we observe the corals and check them for pests and unwanted hitchhikers. Only when we are satisfied with their health do they go into the shop.

Our systems and water parameters

We keep SPS and LPS corals in separate systems because they have different requirements for light, flow and water parameters. The systems are monitored around the clock, and key parameters are regulated automatically.

  • SPS system: KH 7.4–7.6 dKH, calcium 430–440 mg/l, salinity 35 PSU, nitrate 0–5 mg/l, phosphate 0.03–0.06 mg/l
  • LPS system: KH 7.9–8.1 dKH, calcium approx. 420 mg/l, nitrate 0–5 mg/l, phosphate 0.06–0.08 mg/l

Every two weeks we change around 25% of the water in both systems. The corals are fed daily with a mix of frozen food, plankton and powdered food, and we have our water analysed regularly by ICP in a lab. Shipping to Germany and 26 EU countries

We ship live animals by express in insulated packaging, Monday to Thursday for next-day arrival. We deliver within Germany and to 26 other EU countries, but not to Switzerland or the United Kingdom. If a coral does not survive transport, our DOA policy applies.
