- Demanding – better suited to experienced reef keepers.
- Light
- Moderate to high, as even as possible.
- Flow
- Moderate to strong and alternating, so the polyps stay clean.
- Placement
- Middle zone with open surroundings; the long polyps need space.
- Feeding
- Benefits from fine plankton and powdered food.
Goniopora and Alveopora stand out with their flower-like polyps, which stretch out far and sway in the current. Alveopora has shorter polyps with twelve tentacles, Goniopora much longer ones with 24. Both genera appreciate a mature tank with stable parameters and a certain level of nutrients, as conditions that are too sterile quickly lead to decline. Fine powdered food and a regular supply of trace elements support their care. With some experience, they reward you with a unique look that is constantly in motion.
